Dear Lab Users, This morning -the day after the Lab User Meeting where we talked about proper cleaning and waste handling- some of our colleagues were met with very poor cleaning standards. In Cell Lab, one of the small yellow waste baskets was filled to the brim. Furthermore, a bottle from 70% ethanol was thrown out in the regular blue trash. Again, we talked about plastic sorting yesterday morning... In the main lab, the fume hood was a mess, as you can see below. -It has apparently become storage for extra 1,5 ml tubes and (a lot of) pipette tips, as well as home to plastic waste, that should be thrown out only 5-10 steps away. The fume hoods and flow benches should always be left with as little stuff as possible inside, so you have room to work safely.
