Dear colleagues, We are delighted to invite you to the 41st annual meeting of the Nordic Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (NSCMID 2025), which will take place in Mariehamn, Åland Islands, Finland, from August 28–31, 2025. This congress is designed for clinical microbiologists, infectious disease physicians, pediatricians, researchers, as well as other professionals engaged in these fields of infectious disease. The scientific program will include lectures from international experts, a poster exhibition and a special early-career scientist session. The congress provides an excellent platform for scientists to present their research internationally and connect with leading Nordic researchers in the field of infections and microbiology. The scientific program is available at nscmid2025.fi/program<https://nscmid2025.fi/program>. Take advantage of the early bird registration rates, available until May 31, 2025. We also encourage broad participation in the pre-course on Tick-borne Diseases, which will be held at the congress venue, Alandica, from August 27–28, 2025, https://www.nscmid2025.fi/pre-course. Additionally, we invite you to submit abstracts. The submission deadline is May 12, 2025. Dear All Just a quick note that we will have a new colleague starting on Tuesday April 1st. Jonas Karlsen will start as a research assistant in a 9-month position (until end of year 2025). He will be leveraging some of our work on purification of recombinant proteins -expertise that he has from his Masters studies (Molecular Biology) and previous research positions. If you think the name sounds familiar he has been with us during the month of March in an internship. He will be seated in the office (Anna, Eva, Bradley, Aina) in the basement. All the best Martin

Freezer error in Primary Cell Lab

Hi Lab users. Due to an error, the freezer in Primary Cell Lab has been off for more than a week. We don't have an alarm on this freezer, and the issue was only just discovered today. As a result, everything in the freezer has perished. For now, the contents of the freezer have been placed on a rolling table in the lab, so you can see what you've lost. I'm very sorry for this inconvenience, and hope you haven't lost anything irreplaceable!
