[vip-all] International ph.d. students to IFA

To IFA's VIP's and Students. IFA is announcing a pre-PhD scholarship program with the intention to bring a group of about 10 highly qualified and talented foreign students to work at IFA for a 6 months period, beginning from the end of August 2010. This should give researchers at IFA an excellent opportunity to follow these students closely for an extended period of time and evaluate their potential as PhD students before a final decision is made. Needless to say, the intention is to increase the number of international PhD students at IFA. We kindly ask you to contact individuals abroad with access to bachelor students at foreign universities and inform them about this opportunity (follow the link below to see the announcement). Our deadline for application is unfortunately very tight, and we would therefore gratefully appreciate if you quickly forward the information to the relevant members of your network. We include a sketch of a possible message containing the necessary information. To secure that the recipients react, a personal touch to the message is probably recommendable. For VIP's, please bear in mind that the intention with this program is to give you access to a pool of excellent students. If you are a student or a post doc, you may by forwarding the information help students from other universities where you have special connections. Aksel and Brian --------------- Dear NN The department of Physics and Astronomy at Aarhus University wishes to recruit talented students with a bachelor degree for a fully financed Phd-education. As a first step, we invite applications for a financed study in Aarhus for half a year, and followed by the possibility of direct continuation into a full PhD-program for those best qualified. I attach the announcement, which has a very tight deadline. I would therefore very much appreciate if you would give this information to the, recently graduated or soon to be, bachelors at your institute. I also see this as a way to initiate or strengthen the collaboration between our groups. I sincerely hope to get applications from your institution.
