[vip-all] AMO seminar this morning

Speaker: Matthias Kling (Max-Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, Germany) Title: Laser waveform control of molecular dissociation and field-free orientation Time: Today, 10.15 (N.B.) Place: Fysisk Auditorium Abstract: The control of the electric field waveform of laser light opened the door for the direct manipulation of electron dynamics in atomic and molecular systems. For frequencies in the range of visible light this waveform changes on an attosecond timescale. Waveform controlled few- cycle pulses and femtosecond two-color laser fields have been used to control electron localization in the dissociative ionization of molecular hydrogen. Together with an introduction to these prototype studies, new results on the attosecond control of electron localization in multi-electron molecules and the application of femtosecond two-color laser fields in field-free orientation of heteronculear molecules will be presented.
