AMO seminar today, Thursday at 15.15 in Phys.Aud. Speaker:Eva Lindroth Department of Physics, Stockholm University Title: Attosecond resonance dynamics in XUV-pump IR-probe simulations Time: Thursday, January 20, 15.15 to 16.00 Place: Fysisk Auditorium Abstract: Short lived resonance states play an important role in many atomic and molecular charge changing processes. The recent advances in the generation of attosecond XUV pulses open a way to study, and perhaps control, the population and decay of these states in the time domain. We have investigated these possibilities by simulating realistic attosecond XUV-pump IR-probe experiment focused on the N=2 ionization threshold in helium. The helium atom is the simplest system where doubly excited (resonance) states occur. It can be treated with straight forward ab initio methods, but is still a decent model for full many-body systems. Jacob Sherson and Aurélien Dantan Coffee, tea and cake will be served at 15.05
