Fremover får du mindre risiko for at få virus på din pc Torsdag den 25. februar 2016 kl. 10.00 får du installeret en ny tjeneste på din computer, der hedder McAfee SiteAdvisor. Det er en tjeneste, der hjælper med at beskytte dig på internettet, ved at rapportere til dig om sikkerheden af de websteder den finder. AU vil fremover gøre brug af en ny tjeneste til alle medarbejdercomputere, som kort fortalt vil scanne de links, man får adgang til, når man foretager en søgning på internettet. Tjenesten hedder McAfee SiteAdvisor, og den giver brugeren en vurdering af, om et link potentielt indeholder virus, malware eller lignende, ved at give en advarsel, vist ved farverne rød, gul og grøn, inden man som bruger trykker på et link. Grøn vil man få adgang til uden videre. Gul vil give et advarselsvindue, hvor man bliver bedt om at bekræfte adgangen, og sider der er røde vil man ikke få adgang til. Erfaringerne fra de steder på AU, hvor SiteAdvisor allerede er rullet ud, viser et markant fald i antallet af virus- og malware-inficerede computere. Installationen af den nye tjeneste sker på din computer uden at du bemærker det, men du vil blive bedt om at genstarte computeren. Eventuelle spørgsmål vedrørende SiteAdvisor kan rettes til din lokale IT-helpdesk eller din lokale IT-supporter. It is a service that helps protect you on the Internet, by reporting to you on the security of the websites it finds. Aarhus University will make use of a new service on all employee computers, in short the new service will scan the links you can access when you make a search on the Internet. The service is called McAfee SiteAdvisor, and it gives the user an assessment of whether a link potentially can contain virus, malware or something similar, by giving you a warning, indicated by the colors red, yellow or green, before the user presses a link. Green will be accessed automatically. Yellow will give a warning window, where you are asked to confirm availability, and pages that are red you cannot access. SiteAdvisor has already been installed on computers in some departments at the University, and her we have experienced a marked drop in the number of virus and malware-infected computers. The installation of the new service will be automatic on your computer on February 25th, 2016 without you noticing, but you will be prompted to restart the computer.
