REMINDER! I should like to remind you about the below proposed workshop first announced a couple of weeks ago. If you have not already done so, please confirm your attendance to me by email, group-wise is fine, together with title of presentation before September 14'th 2016. --------------------------------- INVITATION to workshop on data-taking/control/automation and H/S-ware at Dept. of Physics and Astronomy September 21, 12.00-16.30 in 1525-626 Inspired among others by our chairman, and by recent initiatives by the electronics/ASTRID group to replace/upgrade of old (25 years +) parts of the ASTRID control system and by the electronics/STM group to replace/upgrade Aarhus STM FPGA systems (10 years +), we are inviting you to a ½ day workshop on data-taking/control/automation hard- and soft-ware. At this first (?) meeting, we invite all interested groups at IFA to present briefly (max 15 min + 5 min discussions) their present and future data-taking/control/automation hard- and soft-ware. We foresee presentations to include keywords like Realtime systems, embedded systems, DAQ-cards, EtherCAT, Bechhoff, TwinCAT, PLC, VHDL, FPGA, ARM9, National Instruments, CompactRIO, LabView, MatLab, (CAMAC), FastBus, VME. Everybody is welcome, but we foresee only one contribution by each relevant group. At this initial meeting, we only aim to inform each other about activities going on and maybe inspire and collaborate, but future meetings can be envisaged. An additional future outcome might also be that we, the electronics group on the 4'th floor, would advocate on a specific solution, where at least some support can be given in the future. Questions, comments and details about your participation (group and possible presentation) to me. Best regards Søren Pape Møller PS: Some catering will be provided; more details later!
