Valgsekretariatet vil i den forbindelse gerne gøre opmærksom på, at det snart er tid til at opstille kandidater til bestyrelsen, akademisk råd, studienævn og ph.d. udvalg. Det er vigtigt at opstille nok kandidater og suppleanter, så alle mandater i organerne udfyldes. Manglende studenterrepræsentation i råd og nævn Ved tidligere valg har en række akademiske råd og studienævn, været uden studenterrepræsentanter, fordi ingen har stillet op. Den manglende studenterrepræsentation kan skyldes flere ting, men det er Valgsekretariatets erfaring, at en af årsagerne er, at de studerende afleverer opstillingslister så sent, at eventuelle fejl ikke kan nå at blive rettet, hvorved listen ofte må erklæres ugyldig. Alle vælgere får tilsendt en mail med oplysninger om valget, herunder om opstilling af kandidater, men Valgsekretariatet vil derudover opfordre studieledere og studievejledere til at gøre de studerende opmærksomme på valget og på muligheden for at aflevere opstillingslister i god tid, så der i den kommende valgperiode vil være så få råd og nævn som muligt uden studenterrepræsentation. Der er en udførlig vejledning til udfyldning af opstillingslisten i forbindelse med skemaet, ligesom der altid er mulighed for at søge vejledning i valgreglerne, som også findes på hjemmesiden. Opstillingsperioden 2014 løber fra den 27. oktober kl. 9.00 til den 7. november kl. 12.00. Opstillingslister modtaget efter dette tidspunkt accepteres ikke. Valgsekretariatet opfordrer derfor til, at man afleverer sin opstillingsliste så tidligt i opstillingsperioden som muligt, da Valgsekretariatet så har mulighed for at gennemgå den, så eventuelle fejl kan blive rettet. Hvis der opdages fejl i listen efter fristens udløb er det ikke muligt at rette disse, og listen risikerer derfor at blive erklæret ugyldig. Listen bør derfor tjekkes grundigt inden aflevering, f.eks. om organets navn, repræsentationsområde og cpr-nummer er korrekt angivet. The 2014 elections have officially begun, and the election circular and schedule have been posted at www.au.dk/valg. The Election Secretariat would like to remind you that it will soon be time to nominate candidates for election to the Aarhus University Board, the academic councils, the boards of studies and the PhD committees. It is important that enough candidates and substitutes are nominated to fill all seats on all collegial bodies. Insufficient student representation on councils and committees In previous elections, a number of academic councils and boards of studies have been without student representatives because no one stood for election. There are many possible reasons for this lack of representation, but in the experience of the Election Secretariat, one contributing factor is the fact that students submit their lists of candidates too late for any errors in them to be corrected, which means that it has often been necessary to declare the lists invalid. All eligible voters will receive a mail with information about the election, including guidelines for nominating candidates. In addition, the Election Secretariat will encourage directors of study and student counsellors to draw students' attention to the election and to the option of submitting lists of candidates well in advance of the deadline, in order to avoid the lack of student representatives on as many councils and boards as possible this year. Nomination lists received after this deadline will not be accepted.
