Emne: Long-term funding for fundamental research in the natural and technical sciences
Dear Astrid R. Klingen,
The Novo Nordisk Foundation invites researchers within the natural and technical sciences to submit applications for the
New Exploratory Research and Discovery (NERD) Programme 2022 with submission deadline 3 February 2022, 2 PM CET.
The NERD Programme is open to researchers with a PhD degree and a grant portfolio that does not exceed DKK 4.0 million in the year that the proposed project kicks off.
We encourage you to present your boldest and most creative idea within fundamental research. The grant is designed to provide long-term stability and continuity to allow
a dedicated exploration of novel areas with a potential for high impact.
To put emphasis on the project idea, all applicants will remain anonymous to our
Committee for Natural and Technical Sciences at the first stage of their evaluation.
The project period is up to 7 years with maximum grants of DKK 14 million for experimental projects and DKK 10.5 million for theoretical projects.
The NERD Programme supports areas within the natural and technical sciences that are of strategic interest to the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Check out our guidelines for more
details on supported areas, evaluation criteria, eligible costs, and tips for completing a proposal:

You are encouraged to contact us if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Signe Rømer Holm
