Se ansøgningsskemaet her.

Ny VPN-server, 18. november 2015

ERC Starting Grant / ERC Consolidator Grant

Deadlines: STG: 17 November 2015, COG: 2 February 2016. More info: STG or COG.

We know the competition is very hard and we would like to offer assistance that may hopefully contribute to strengthening the application. Vice Dean for research and professor at the Department of Computer Science Mogens Nielsen would like to offer to read your application and provide feedback with third-part-eyes. Mogens Nielsen is a former board member of the Danish research council as well as currently chair of an ERC Consolidator Panel and has considerable research application evaluation experience.

Please remember that all EU applications must pass by the Research Support Office. They may assist you with your application in terms of formalities.

You can send your application to Mogens Nielsen and/or schedule a face-to-face meeting with the Vice Dean to give you personal feedback. Please send your application and/or contact us to arrange meeting on this e-mail: maj@au.dk.

Application to The Competence Fund

The Competence Fund (Kompetencefonden) is now welcoming applications. The application deadline is 15 December. See the application form here. Courses the employee intends to take should always be approved in advance by the immediate superior. In connection with the coming SDD interviews, the courses the employee wishes to take will be collected, and the department must commit to co-financing the course, corresponding to half the expenses.

Development plan
The application must include a development plan, which is a description of the employee’s skills and the activities that are to be initiated in order for the employee to develop professionally and personally. It must be described how the activities are included in the employee’s development plans. The development plan is prepared in cooperation with the employee’s immediate superior.

The PS! Christmas Lunch

18 December 2015 from 1PM-10PM in the Physics Canteen.

Sign up and pay with Birthe/Heidi at the Information desk Monday-Thursday between 10 and 12 no later than 10 December.

New VPN server, 18 November 2015

IT will shut down the old  IFAVPN at vpn.au.dk on 18 November as everybody is to use the VPN server remote.au.dk.

The majority already uses remote.au.dk. Those currently using IFAVPN will be informed of the change. This link has information and instructions for VPN.

CMCI-15: networks and optimization, 20 November 2015

The AU Network for Computer Modelling of Complex Interactions was established in 2014 to combine expertise from a broad range of fields to develop novel approaches for the study of intelligent, dynamically evolving systems. In the CMCI-15 workshop we will present preliminary results on the  first joint projects on e.g. swarm-based optimization of quantum physics, individual and collective problem solving, and the emergence of creole languages.

In addition, invited speakers will present their applications of networks and optimization. The physics highlights will be Dr. Siomau presenting Collective Dynamics of Quantum Networks with Applications to Machines learning and our local Prof. Bjørk Hammer presenting his work on Genetic search algorithms in quantum physics.

Attendance to the full event (at http://cmci.dk/cmci-15/) for free lunch and cake, or show up at selected talks.

STBYG2 service mail

After the  joining of STBYG1 and STBYG2 the number of inquiries to the STBYG2 service mail has increased considerably.

You are therefore asked to indicate the building and room numbers or department in the subject line, when writing to the service mail. This could e.g. be: Lamps building 1521,122.

By doing so, you enable us to distribute and carry out the tasks more quickly to everybody’s satisfaction.

Updates to AU access card databases – your card might need an update

Right after the autumn break, AU began updating the access control system for buildings on Aarhus Campus, at Moesgaard and in Foulum. The process will continue until early 2016. Unfortunately, this means that the access cards of some employees will stop working properly.
