Instituttet har ansat Lotte Holmegaard som videnskabelig koordinator fra 12. oktober 2015.
Informationsmøde
Der afholdes informationsmøde onsdag den 23. september kl. 13 i Fysisk Auditorium, hvor institutlederen vil fortælle om ’rigets tilstand’.
Portnere / STBYG
Pr. 1. oktober vil STBYG 1 overgå til STBYG2 og derved fungere som en samlet enhed. Fra samme dato skal I derfor benytte en anden servicemail, hvis I har brug for hjælp fra portnerne eller håndværkerne;

Styrk karrieren som mentor eller mentee
Mentorordningen Styrk Talentet! matcher medarbejdere på adjunkt-niveau med mere erfarne kolleger (lektorniveau eller derover). Formålet er at bidrage til at understøtte og udvikle de videnskabelige medarbejderes faglige og personlige karrierepotentiale.
Næste deadline for tilmelding – for både mentorer og mentees - er den
23. oktober 2015.

Fysisk APV
Nu er det igen tid til Fysisk Arbejdspladsvurdering (Fysisk APV). Alle medarbejdere opfordres til at besvare det elektroniske spørgeskema, der blev sendt pr. e-mail i sidste uge.
Besøg af rektor den 8. oktober
Brian Bech Nielsen kommer på den årlige besøgsrunde, hvor han møder medarbejdere for at drøfte universitetets udvikling og udveksle visioner og problemer. På møderne er der sat god tid af til medarbejdernes kommentarer
og spørgsmål.
Mødet finder sted på IFA den 8. oktober kl. 11.30-13.00 i Fysisk Auditorium og alle medarbejdere er indbudt.
Bestilling af varer og kontostreng til fakturaer
På given foranledning kan det oplyses, at man ved bestilling af varer, sagtens kan nøjes med at angive kontostrengen (projekt og aktivitetsnummer) til leverandøren, som så skal påføre det på fakturaen. Det letter os selv og regnskabsafdelingen,
hvis de straks på fakturaen kan se konteringen og sparer os selv for at udfylde en rekvisition.
I de tilfælde hvor man indkøber på andres vegne, er det selvfølgelig vigtigt med en rekvisition, således at man får betalerens underskrift på at man har lov at bestille varen.
Bemærk også, at kun rekvisitioner med bestillinger over kr. 5.000 bliver tastede i Navision som disponerede. Det giver således god mening at skrive rekvisitioner på store beløb og med lang leveringstid.
IFA-IDEAS
Institut for Fysik og Astronomi (IFA) åbner hermed for ansøgninger til puljen 'IFA-IDEAS' fra videnskabelige medarbejdere og studerende med minimum en bachelorgrad. Der kan søges om 50.000 kr. til et projekt
indenfor forskning, talentudvikling, uddannelse eller formidling.
Ansøgningen, bestående af 1 sides projektbeskrivelse og 1 sides kort CV samt budget, indsendes til Instituttet gennem Ruth Laursen (ruth@phys.au.dk)
med frist 1.10.15 kl. 12. Behandlingen af indkomne ansøgninger foretages umiddelbart efter fristens udløb, og succesfulde ansøgere kan forvente svar inden
8.10.15.
I bedømmelsen lægges der vægt på videnskabelig originalitet og potentiale for videre udvikling af projektet ud over hvad IFA-IDEAS kan finansiere ('seed-money'). De bevilgede midler skal anvendes inden udgangen
af 2015 og antallet af uddelinger afhænger af kvaliteten af de indkomne ansøgninger.
ERC Starting Grant / ERC Consolidator Grant

evaluation experience.
Please remember that all EU applications must pass by the Research Support Office. They may assist you with your application in terms of formalities.

New scientific coordinator: Lotte Holmegaard
The department has employed Lotte Holmegaard as scientific coordinator from 12 October, 2015.
Information meeting
An information meeting will be held on Wednesday 23 September at 13:00 in the Physics Auditorium. The Head of Department will inform about ‘the state of the empire’.
Janitors / STBYG
As of 1 October STBYG 1 will merge with STBYG2, which will function as one unit. Starting 1 October, you should use a difference service mail if you need assistance from the janitors or
the skilled workmen; stbyg2service.okoplan@au.dk.

Empower your career as a mentor or a mentee
The mentor scheme Empower Talent! matches staff at
assistant professor level (assistant professor/researcher/postdoc) with more experienced colleagues at associate professor level or above. The purpose of the scheme is to contribute to supporting and developing the professional and personal career
potential of the academic staff. Next deadline for registration - for both mentors and mentees - will be
October 23, 2015.

Physical Workplace Assessment (the physical WPA)
Once again, it’s time for the Physical Workplace Assessment (the Physical WPA). All employees are encouraged to complete the electronic questionnaire that was sent out by email last week.
Visit by the rector on 8 October 2015
Brian Bech Nielsen will make his annual visits to the university’s various units, where he will meet employees to discuss the development of the university and to exchange visions and problems. There will be time for
comments and asking the rector questions.
The visit to IFA will take place on 8 October at 11:30-13:00 in the Physics Auditorium. All employees are invited.
Ordering articles and products / account numbers for invoices
When ordering articles and products it is enough to give the supplier the project and activity numbers and ask him to state these on the invoice. It will make things much easier for our accounting department if the project
and activity numbers appear from the invoice and it will save us from filling out a requisition.
When purchasing on behalf of another person, you should obtain a requisition to ensure that you have the payer’s signature confirming your permission to purchase the article.
Please also note that only requisitions for orders in excess of DKK 5,000 will be registered in Navision as predisposed. It therefore makes sense to make requisitions for large amounts and for articles where there is
a long wait for delivery.
IFA-IDEAS
The Department of Physics and Astronomy hereby opens for applications to stipends, ‘IFA-IDEAS’, from scientific staff, and students with a minimum of a bachelor’s
degree. The stipend is 50.000 DKK and is awarded to a project within the areas of research, talent development, education or outreach.
The application must contain a project description of maximum 1 page and a short CV plus budget, also maximum 1 page, and must be sent to the Department through Ruth Laursen (ruth@phys.au.dk)
before 1st of October 2015 at noon. The evaluation of applications received will be swift, and successful applicants can expect an answer before
8th of October.
In the evaluation process the main emphasis will be on scientific originality and potential for further development of the project, beyond what can be financed by IFA-IDEAS (‘seed-money’). The
stipend must be used before the end of 2015 and the number of stipends depends upon the quality of applications received.
