AMO seminar
Thursday 27th August 15:15-16:00, Fys. Aud.
Title: Ultrafast
dynamics of gaseous ions
Speaker: Jan
R. R. Verlet, Durham University
Abstract:
Time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy is used to probe the excited state dynamics of isolated anions that have been generated by electrospray
ionisation. Following an overview of the instrument and the methodology, three different systems will be discussed: (i) the photophysics of nucleotides and oligonucleotides; (ii) the dynamics of the green fluorescent protein chromophore; and (iii) the dynamics
of electron attachment.
Cake and coffee will be available from 15:05
