Further to my email in September, I can confirm the dates for the three PhD courses in applied statistics that I will be offering in 2026: 1. Multivariate data analysis with R, 28-30th April 2026 https://event.au.dk/events/multivariate-data-analysis-with-r 1. Generalized additive modelling with R, 9-11 June 2026 https://event.au.dk/events/generalized-additive-modelling-with-r Each of the courses will take place at the AU Viborg campus and are in person events. There is a small registration fee for each course of DKK400 to cover morning and afternoon refreshments. The links above for each course are registration links; if you wish to take any of the courses, please register to secure your spot. The courses will be advertised on the Tech Graduate School PhD course list soon. Brief details on the courses are given below. The Applied regression modelling course is a slight redesign of the “Mixed Modelling” course I ran in January, with the name change reflecting that the course covers a broader set of models than just mixed effects ones. It will cover generalised linear models and generalised linear mixed effects models, and include fitting, diagnosing problems with, and interrogating those models to extract parameters and values of interest. This is a general practical modelling course in R, so will not expect much prior knowledge. The focus will be on the lme4 and glmmTMB packages and using the marginaleffects package to extract and test values of scientific interest. The Multivariate data analysis course will be like the one I have taught previously but will cover microbiome / sequencing data more in the examples and methods than in previous years. The Generalized Additive Models (GAM) course will be very similar to the one I taught in 2024 but updated with some more Animal Science / Vet examples. This course is for anyone interested in modelling non-linear effects of variables on responses.
