Travel grants for Early Career Scientists

Travel grants are available for early career scientists who are NSCMID members and have submitted an abstract to NSCMID 2025.

Each grant can be up to 1,000 €, or the amount of actual travel expenses—whichever is lower. Reimbursement will be based on submitted receipts for travel and accommodation costs. Detailed instructions, including where to send the receipts, will be provided to the selected recipients.

Pre-course on tick-borne diseases (TBDs)
In connection with the congress, a pre-course on tick-borne diseases (TBDs) will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 27th, and the morning of Thursday, August 28th. The pre-course will cover the epidemiology, diagnostics, and clinical aspects of TBDs and will include a session dedicated to TBD case presentations.

We encourage NSCMID 2025 participants to submit abstracts on interesting case reports related to tick-borne diseases. Topics may include Lyme borreliosis, tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), as well as emerging infections such as neoehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, babesiosis, and others. These case reports should be submitted via the same abstract submission system (https://nscmid2025.fi/abstracts). The best case report will be rewarded with free participation in the next ETBD conference (the conference fee will be covered by ESGBOR).

We look forward to receiving your abstracts and to seeing you in Mariehamn!

Warm regards,
Jessica Tikkala and Elisa Kortela,

on behalf of the NSCMID 2025 Organizing Committee
