Subject: Psychiatry Research Seminar Series - Fall 2025

Hi everyone,

The Fall 2025 schedule for the Psychiatry Research Seminar Series has now been finalized (see attached - note the schedule discrepancies in red). As before, the series consists of 8 sessions, 4 journal club meetings led by junior researchers and 4 "Special topics and methods" lectures led by senior researchers.

We are particularly excited by our lineup of special topics lectures for this fall. For those of you who would like to know more about the iPSYCH design and how to use the data to analyze secondary outcomes, I will give a brief overview of case-cohort designs, including weighting schemes, on September 18.

Next, we have two special lectures on topics related to clinical practice, which will hopefully be beneficial for helping us register-based researchers to put our data into context. On 9. October, Dr. Ana-Lisa Martins Carmo, Overlæge and head of the clinic for ECT and TMS at Aarhus University Hospital-Psychiatry, will give a lecture on how ECT is used in the clinic, together with a half-hour overview of findings on ECT from register-based research. On 13. November, Dr. Jean-Christophe Debost, psychiatrist in the personality disorders clinic at Aarhus University Hospital-psychiatry, will give a lecture on how psychotherapy is used to treat patients in the hospital

Last but certainly not least, on 18. December we will have a special workshop on Creativity in Science by Dr. Søren Hansen and Sofie Otto from Aalborg University. This workshop will address how researchers can use their creativity in their research, and how creativity can be applied to research in general.

I look forward to seeing all of you at our journal clubs and special topics lectures this fall!

Best,

Kate and Alisha
