Miljøstyrelsen will be visiting on Thursday

Hi Klawonn-group There will potentially be a work-environmental inspection on Thursday, as ‘Miljøstyrelsen’ will be visiting the department. As always remember to keep the guidelines for GMOI laboratory practice - remember to wear a lab coat in the lab, gloves, and clean-up after yourself (like we always do - but maybe a little better on Thursday 😉). If in doubt about lab-practices, I can recommend asking Bjarke for advice 😊 Importantly: If asked you all should know where to find our safety procedures/risk assessments in the Klawonn-group folder. The folder is called ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ and there you find individual risk assessments included in the SOPs that requires them, e.g. Cardiac Perfusions (we use PFA), stereotaxic viral injections, Tamoxifen injections etc. Besides that, I think we should be okay. Desinfection wipes - Opinions?

Hey Everyone The basic surgery disinfection wipes we currently use are 82% ethanol 0.5% Chlorhexidine and costs 70dkk (for 50) AU has an agreement with a company that can deliver another brand, which is only 75% ethanol. (still 0.5% Chlorhexidine) for 10DKK (for 50) Does anyone have a good argument (scientific or otherwise) for why should NOT swap to the cheaper wipes? Location of dangerous chemicals

Hey Everyone Our dangerous Chemicals have moved. From now on the fumehood and attached chemical cupboard we had previously used is now ONLY for PFA. The scale and our PFA and PFA waste is still there. All other "dangerous" chemicals have moved to the chemical cupboard in the common room next to the elevator. (Lab 4 on the picture below.) Status on the fine scale

Hey everyone I found the manual for our fine scale (ML104) The blinking icon is a reminder that it haven't been serviced in quite a while. [cid:2d5195cb-c2c2-4658-815c-7c7d80c73a40] We could consider having it serviced at some point, but for now my opinion is that it is fine for operations. Just remember to make sure it is level and close all the doors when using it. If using it in the fume hood, consider turning off the hood while in operation. The next step is that I will try to find some weights, to compare how accurate it actually is.
