I am sending attached a paper related to a discussion with Kamille on difficult columns of unsaturated compounds.

Silica gel can be impregnated with Ag+ ions, that will coordinate to double bonds and thus influences retention time.

It is pretty impressive what types of molecules can be separated using this method.
