We are excited to announce that IIASA will host the first-ever Climate Overshoot Conference from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the IIASA Conference Center in Laxenburg, Austria.

We invite you to save the date and consider participating in this in-person event. A Call for Abstracts will be launched around mid-April.

 

Discussions will focus on eight critical topics: 

 

  1. Highest possible mitigation ambition under overshoot 
  2. Carbon dioxide Removal: Sustainability constraints and opportunities   
  3. Earth System responses up to net zero and beyond 
  4. Climate impact (ir)reversibility   
  5. Overshoot legacy and tipping elements 
  6. Adaptation and adaptation limits under overshoot   
  7. Loss and damage   
  8. Legal and justice implications of overshoot 

 

Your input will be key to these discussions, and we hope you can join us.
